It was a privilege to be a part of the Welwyn Garden City Rail Station Centenary project, contributing original artwork to celebrate 100 years of the station’s history. This community-based initiative, led by the All Aboarders, the Welwyn Garden City Station Adoption Group, and Hertfordshire County Council, provided a wonderful opportunity to see my work integrated into the fabric of the town’s landscape.

For this project, I licensed a selection of my existing pieces and was commissioned to create four new original illustrations, all of which focus on scenic locations along the railway tracks.

Seeing these images displayed on the bridge and within the refurbished town centre subway is incredibly rewarding. The project is part of a broader effort to improve walking routes and encourage active travel across Hertfordshire, and I am delighted that my art can play a role in enhancing the commuter experience while promoting local heritage. It was an honor to be acknowledged alongside fellow contributors like the Hertfordshire Archives and Great Northern, helping to tell the story of the station and the iconic former Shredded Wheat Factory through visual design.
