Hitchin BID

Street lamp art, shop units and merchandise

I was absolutely thrilled to work with Hitchin BID to help encourage travel and tourism into Hitchin. The aim of this project is to communicate visually with a bold, iconic travel-style illustration, a selection of the amazing businesses, history and sites that Hitchin has to offer. Since living locally it has genuinely been one of my favourite towns and I have spent a lot of my time enjoying its independent shops, worked its local markets and attended several talks and events. Luckily for me, I did not have to choose the landmarks, because this small town is brimming to the core with options. The artworks are installed on street lamps on the arterial roads leading into the town. They aim to encourage people to stay, explore and enjoy the town if they are visiting, and offer a bright enjoyable reminder to anyone of what a wonderful town they live in. Merchandise is available from the Hitchin BID shop on Churchyard.

More recently we have collaborated on the use of illustrations created in the above project to greatly improve the look of the towns empty units/ offices in order to visually add value to the high street, in stark contrast to the standard empty offices/ units one usually sees.
